Damaged lower control arm mounting bracket required replacement. Standard repair protocol requires removal of the entire front frame section as these brackets are welded, integral to the structural frame. Instead of such drastic measures, (2) 3/8” thick steel replacement brackets were cut, welded and attached to the frame. Both sides were replaced. New lower control arms installed. Post +14 months of heavy use, alignment is spot on with no impact on vehicle transmission or general operation.

2013-2019, 1/2” Felt, 1/2” plywood, powder coated steel, miscellaneous hardware, 36” x 36” x 18”

It started as a giant painter’s canvas wrapped around Zero back in 2013.  A few measurements later and it was into the computer.  Simplified into a circle and an ellipse.  The thought of a felt wrapper that could provide warmth and enclosure with the ability to look-out or hide.  So, the felt was cut, wrapped and sewn. But it was too heavy for its own good.  Stymied.  It felt like failure.  Tick tock.  In 2016 after tinkering and thinking it made sense to consider a shell to encase the felt.  Cardboard turned to computer model and back again.  The result was a shell within a shell – powder coated steel, a flexible support and the original felt.  It feels like failure again.  Tick tock.

Multiple iterations of my first foray into a custom-built, water cooled computer.  Originally mounted on a 1” thick, routed piece of built-up walnut, it now resides in a Pelican Hardigg BlackBox 11U Rackmount Case enabling protected transport when the road calls.   

Complete and total overkill.
